Webmail vs. Outlook: How to Access Your cPanel Email

You've created your professional email. Now, how do you read it? cPanel offers two ways: accessing it directly via the browser (**Webmail**) or connecting it to an app like Outlook or Apple Mail (**Mail Client**).

Option 1: Webmail (Roundcube)

This is the easiest way. Just go to domain.com/webmail and log in.

  • Pros: Accessible from any computer Worldwide. No setup required.
  • Cons: Requires login every time. Less features than a desktop app.

Option 2: Mail Client (Outlook/Mobile)

This is valid for power users. Your email lives on your phone or laptop alongside your other accounts.

The Magic Settings

When connecting your app, you will need these "Non-SSL" or "SSL" settings. We assume SSL (Secure) for everyone:

Incoming Server (IMAP):
mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 993
Outgoing Server (SMTP):
mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 465

IMAP vs. POP3

Always choose IMAP. It syncs your email across all devices. If you read an email on your phone, it is marked as read on your laptop. POP3 is an older technology that downloads (and often removes) emails from the server.
